Function / Content

This series consists of photomaps and mosaics, used within the Lands and Survey Branch, based on colour, black and white aerial photography of the Northern Territory - predominantly of major towns with Darwin being dominant. A significant number of the sheets consist of enlarged copies, indicating that they were probably produced as part of a preliminary survey process. The images include defence photography flown during the war years as well as photomaps produced from aerial photographs taken after Cyclone Tracy. Size and scale vary with scale.
